Refund policy
At Latche, each jewellery piece is individually handcrafted and custom-preserved using personal keepsakes provided by our clients. Due to the artisanal and organic nature of the materials involved, minor variations are inherent to the process and contribute to the uniqueness of each piece.
We are committed to maintaining high quality standards and providing structured rectification support where required.
1. Natural Characteristics of Handcrafted Preservation
The following are considered inherent characteristics of handmade resin preservation and do not constitute manufacturing defects:
-
Air bubbles within resin
-
Slight tonal variations resulting from natural breastmilk composition
-
Subtle surface texture variations
-
Micro hairline marks not visible at arm’s length
-
Gradual tarnishing due to environmental exposure and wear
- Stone detachment due to improper jewellery care. Regular exposure to friction, moisture, chemicals, or impact can affect the setting.
Each piece is individually cast, cured, and finished by hand. No two pieces will be identical.
2. Definition of Manufacturing Defect
A manufacturing defect refers strictly to structural or production-related faults, including:
-
Resin curing failure (softness, stickiness, improper setting)
-
Stone detachment due to setting fault upon receiving
-
Faulty clasp or hardware upon initial receipt
-
Severe, unintended discoloration inconsistent with approved design confirmation
-
Structural integrity issues affecting wearability
Cosmetic concerns arising from personal preference or misunderstanding of handmade characteristics are not classified as defects.
3. Notification & Assessment Window
Clients must notify Latche within 14 calendar days of receiving the item for manufacturing defect claims.
The following are required for assessment:
-
Clear photos and/or videos of the concern
-
Order reference number
-
Description of the issue
Latche reserves the right to request return of the item for physical inspection before confirming eligibility for rectification.
4. Rectification Hierarchy
Given the irreplaceable nature of preserved keepsakes, Latche follows a structured approach:
Repair → Restore → Component Replacement
Full remakes are considered only if the original piece is deemed irreparable and sufficient preserved material is available.
Approved manufacturing defects within the 14-day notification window will be rectified at no additional charge.
5. Restoration Beyond Initial Window
Requests made after the 14-day period will be assessed under our Restoration Service.
A restoration fee may apply depending on:
-
Nature and extent of damage
-
Time elapsed since delivery
-
Material and labour required
Latche will provide a quotation prior to proceeding.
6. Exclusions
The following circumstances are not covered under manufacturing defect rectification:
-
Damage resulting from water exposure beyond care instructions
-
Contact with chemicals (perfume, sanitiser, cleaning agents, chlorine)
-
Physical impact, dropping, bending or mishandling
-
Natural wear and tear over time
-
Improper storage
Where possible, Latche may still offer paid restoration support.
7. Commitment to Heirloom Preservation
Latche jewellery is designed as a long-term keepsake. While resin preservation is durable, it is not indestructible. Proper care is essential to maintain longevity.
All rectification and restoration decisions are made following careful inspection to ensure fairness, quality control, and preservation of brand standards.
